Honey Balm vs Bee Balm (vs Honeloom): An Honest Comparison
Honey balm or bee balm? If you have been scrolling TikTok or Reddit, you have probably seen both names for the same idea: a soft lip balm in a small pot with a honey-dipper applicator. "Honeybalm" is a brand, and "bee balm" is used both as a category name and as the name of another brand, Bee Balm Co. We are a third option, Honeloom, so we compared the classic honey flavor from all three using only what each brand publishes on its own website.
Full disclosure: this page is written by Honeloom. To keep it fair, every number below comes from each brand's own site, with links at the bottom. Prices and policies were checked on October 25, 2026 and can change.

What is the difference between honey balm and bee balm?
All three are pot-style lip balms built around beeswax, and all three come with a dipper-style applicator so you don't have to put your fingers in the jar. The differences are in the details: jar size, how many applicators you get, the base ingredients, shipping and returns.
Jar size and price. Honeybalm sells a larger 6.5 g jar at the highest price of the three. Bee Balm Co and Honeloom both sell 5 g pots, with Bee Balm Co's honey balm listed a little cheaper than ours. If you buy several, our balms drop to $4.99 each from 10 pots in one order.
Applicators. Honeybalm includes one applicator per jar. Bee Balm Co and Honeloom include two, so you have a spare. All three sell replacement applicators.
Ingredients. None of these balms is just honey and beeswax. Honeybalm's list leads with emollient esters (ethylhexyl palmitate, tridecyl trimellitate) and caprylic/capric triglyceride. Bee Balm Co's lists petrolatum and mineral oil. Ours uses liquid paraffin (mineral oil) and mineral fat, with beeswax, propolis, vitamin E, jojoba oil and honey extract. A base like this is what gives a pot balm its glide; dermatologists often recommend ointments such as petroleum jelly for very dry lips. You can read more on our ingredients page. Whatever you choose, check the full list if you are allergic to bee products, propolis or nut oils.
Shipping and returns. Honeybalm has the lowest free-shipping threshold and the most generous return window for unopened jars. Bee Balm Co and Honeloom both charge a flat $5 for standard US shipping and accept returns within 14 days of delivery, with return shipping paid by the customer.
Which one should you choose?
- You want the biggest jar and the longest return window: Honeybalm's 6.5 g jar and 30-day policy for unopened items are hard to beat, though the jar costs more.
- You want the lowest single-jar price: Bee Balm Co lists its honey balm at $5.00.
- You want two applicators, lots of flavors and a clear ingredient list: that is where we think Honeloom fits, with 19 flavors, two dippers in every order and the full ingredients on every flavor page.
- You have very sensitive or cracked lips: any flavored, scented balm may sting. Try a small amount first, and see a dermatologist if your lips don't improve within two to three weeks.
